QuickBooks for Europe

FCC

From QuickBooks add-on to an ERP that AI agents can run

FCC made its name filling the local gaps in QuickBooks, from Italian e-invoicing to SEPA payments. Its FOR products now turn that work into one engine for running a company, on top of QuickBooks, on its own or driven by AI agents.

The story

The gaps in QuickBooks

Intuit sells QuickBooks Online in Italy and Spain, but local rules ask for more than a ledger. Italian invoices travel electronically through the tax authority's system, VAT needs registers and returns, trade inside the EU needs Intrastat reports and payments run on SEPA files. FCC Group set out to fill those gaps. By 2022 its site sold QuickBooks licences, hosting and support together with its own FCC Accounting System, which it said handled VAT, e-invoicing and Intrastat from inside QuickBooks in more than 60 countries, with support desks for the US and for Europe. Intuit's own QuickBooks sites for Italy and Spain still walk buyers through the pairing today. Subscribe to QuickBooks Essentials or Plus, the pages say, then sign up with FCC to manage VAT and electronic invoices.

In the room with Intuit

FCC works alongside Intuit rather than around it. On 30 May 2024 it brought Italian accountants to the Relais Bellaria in Bologna for "I Commercialisti del Futuro", a day of talks with Intuit QuickBooks and Katana Cloud Inventory. There Francesco Sacca, FCC's founder and president, argued that the paths of the entrepreneur and the accountant should converge, and CEO Nicole Gomiero spoke about building a cohesive team of professionals. In November 2025 FCC staff joined the Intuit stand at Accountex España in Madrid, where the talk was Spain's coming Veri*Factu rules for digital invoicing and reporting.

Keep QuickBooks. Go further.

In 2026 FCC folded that work, and Koaila, its AI bookkeeper for QuickBooks bills since 2024, into FOR:LEDGER, and widened its scope from compliance to operations. QuickBooks stays the accounting system. FOR:LEDGER adds purchasing, warehouse stock with lots and serial numbers, sales orders and fulfilment in FOR:INVENTORY, versioned bills of materials and quality checks in FOR:FACTORY, connections to eligible US and European bank accounts, reporting, spreadsheet imports and commerce integrations. The local layer remains, with electronic invoicing where it is supported, VAT registers, Intrastat and SEPA payment files. Setup guides cover 30 countries, from the 27 EU states to the US, Mexico and Saudi Arabia, and the site runs in six languages.

One engine, three ways in

FCC then took the same engine off QuickBooks. FOR:CEO, added in 2026, is a standalone ERP with its own accounting next to the inventory and manufacturing modules, for companies that do not use QuickBooks, and it can be started free. FOR:AGENT, whose site went live on 9 October 2026, is FOR:CEO without the screen. An AI agent connects over the Model Context Protocol, subscribes, sets up the company and runs invoicing, purchasing, stock, production and reports. It is the same company engine, not a copy, so a person can sign in to FOR:CEO and pick up any record. Routine work follows an approved automation policy, and identity checks, payment challenges and exceptional approvals go to a human. The pace shows in the release notes, with 30 releases between 8 and 24 October 2026.

AI at FCC

Koaila, FCC's AI assistant, works inside all three FOR products. It answers questions about documents and the books, opens the right form for a task and turns a reporting question into a reusable report, within each user's permissions. FOR:AGENT goes further and lets an AI agent run the company over MCP; routine work follows an approved automation policy, while identity checks, payment challenges and exceptional approvals stay with a person.

  • Answers questions about documents and company records, within role permissions
  • Records supplier bills from invoices and receipts with AI document recognition
  • Lets an AI agent run invoicing, purchasing, stock, production and reports over MCP
